I haven't disappeared! But I did almost die!

Sorry I haven't written in so long! I haven't had anything really exciting to write about!
Michael's farewell was on Sunday. I have been working to make enough money to go to Disneyland on Sunday. A few months ago over Christmas break Ben went to Disneyland with his family. We were joking around about going over spring break. Then as we started talking about it more in detail we realized that it was totally do-able. We started to make plans, invited lots of people (so the cost in hotel rooms and gas would go down), got parental permission, and got it all set up! Ben will be driving us all 7 of us (Cameo, Marcus, Me, Ben, Ashley, Tyler, and Jessica) in his parents suburban and we are leaving Sunday morning and we will be back Saturday or Friday night. I am very excited to go. 4 more days! It will be an adventure.

Speaking of adventures... After going to Michael's farewell this Sunday it got over kind of late. so I decided to miss my Monday classes and stay the night. Then Monday I convinced my parents to let me take the car home since I was coming home again in just a few days anyway. But it was already 6 and I hadn't packed yet. so I hurried and packed. By that time Ben had texted me and told me that he would be home with in the next 45 minutes. I decided that since I had kicked him out half an hour early the night before I would wait for him to come home so I could say goodbye because I hadn't seen him yet that day because he was at a funeral in draper. so I waited for him and it was 9 by the time I actually left. My parents had debated whether I was going to take the truck home or my dad's car. They decided to let me take the truck and I am very grateful they did or I would probably not be here right now. Right as I was leaving the weather got really bad. I couldn't see one car length in front of me. my window wiper is broken so I pulled off the freeway in Spanish Fork to fix it and as I was getting back on the freeway I slid on the wet gravel and smashed right into 2 barrels and a construction turning arrow.

I was freaked. Thankfully my car was still running but I was too afraid to get out and check my car because I was on the entrance to the freeway so after freaking out for a second I continued on the freeway to the next exit which was the Benjamin exit. Then I got out and checked my car. when I realized I was missing my grill on the front of my car and that my headlight was falling out. so I shoved my headlight back in my car and got back on the freeway going north to search for my grill. I pulled off the freeway where I had previously run off the road found my grill, threw it back in the car and called my dad then continued on my journey.

The weather was still really bad but I knew if I stopped and waited for it to be over it would just get later and the storm was just going to get worse. the only thing that saved me was a diesel truck that drove past me on the freeway that just happened to be the only other car on the freeway besides my self and I could barely see its back lights in the distance. So I  just followed the truck so I knew I was on the road till I got to Nephi where I sadly had to pull off the freeway. The weather was pretty good in Nephi so I thought it would be good up the canyon also but I was very wrong the road was so much worse. There was a foot of snow covering the road. All I could do was try to follow the sleep strips to try to stay on the road and in my lane.

As I got further and further into the canyon the weather just got worse and worse. There was so much snow and no one had driven on the road except for me. and one point I lost control and slid right off the road and hit one of those little reflective poles that they have on the sides of the road in the canyon. but luckily it didn't do any more damage to my car and I was safe. I was stuck on the side of the road in the canyon with out cellphone service and there was no one else on the road. I knew if I stayed stuck I would be there for a long time. I finally figured out how to turn on the 4WD in my car and after that I didn't slide off the road anymore. A trip that usually takes and hour and a half to complete ended up taking me 3 hours. It was one of the most traumatic experiences I have had in a long time! I am glad I am home safe and sound and I will for sure be leaving during the day this weekend so I won't have this problem when I return to Pleasant Grove.

Here is some pictures of my car after the crazy adventure:

What I should have asked for this christmas.

Oh my gosh! as I was searching the web this time I found a website called photojojo.com. it is the coolest website I have ever seen! it has so much photography crap but it is all so fun! I found this mug that looks exactly like a camera lens. it is so realistic. if I ever get a job that is what I am going to spend my money on! check it out.

This flash drive is cool too. but not as cool as the mug!!

Operation get out of the house.. SUCCESS

As I was sitting on my couch this afternoon surfing the world wide Facebook. I was enviously looking at Doug Havens Facebook page feeling sad that he had so many pretty pictures and that he goes places all the time to take pictures! He goes places I will probably never go in my life and he comes out with these beautiful pictures every time. I then realized that I could take awesome pictures like that too if I wanted to. You don't have to go to a far away place to take pictures. sometimes the coolest places are right in your back yard. so I got off the couch (miracle, I know),  threw my jeans into the dryer, and went to get ready. after making my self look very presentable I decide to head out! after wandering around pleasant grove for quite a while I decide to go down to the lake to see what is down there and find out that it is completely frozen over! I grab the biggest rock I can find and chuck it out as far as I can and it just bounced around! after finding a place on the shore where the ice is as close to the shore as possible I jump over the thawed out edge (without my camera) to test the waters, well... ice I guess. it was so cool! it was like a skating rink. I ran slid all the way back to my camera to drag it out towards the middle and got some pretty awesome shots! check them out!

CHRISTMAS!!

I love Christmas :) I have always loved Christmas its such a wonderful time of year that you get to spend with your friends and family. nice to spend time focusing on Christ and everything that he has done for us! sadly 5 days before this Christmas I had to get my tonsils out. it was awful. people always say that you want to kill your self and that it is the most horrible experience they have ever been through and you always think they are exaggerating but guess what!! they weren't lying! it is absolutely the worst most prolonged pain I have been through so far in this life. but luckily it is almost over! I can eat now sometimes! which is a big improvement.. I think I lost like 20 pounds. hopefully I can keep it off yeah? ;)

Benjamin gave me a camera for Christmas so that we could "document our lives" what a cutie huh? It was the perfect present to abuse before he leaves on his mission. now we just need to go do something amazing so that we can use the camera for something cool! so far we have only used it to document our many trips to Wal-Mart and my tonsillectomy. so not cool.. He insisted that since he couldn't come along to the surgery I had to take the camera (which we still need to name). so I obediently took the camera and my parents took all sorts of... fun, pictures. also during the recuperating stage Ben couldn't get the camera out of my face. taking pictures of the inside of my mouth, pictures of me while I was sleeping, and pictures of me trying to eat my soup. Silly Ben. I love him so much :)

Its been a good Christmas. I got to spend Christmas eve this year at Ben's house it was very fun really good food and stories that made me cry.. I love spending time with Ben's family. I used to feel awkward there because I didn't know them very well but now it is fun to be there and I think I want to be there more then Ben does at times ;) It was a good year this year :) I am glad I got to spend these holidays with all of you!!

My Roomies

I never thought I would say this but... I miss Ephraim!! well that's a lie.. I miss my pretty apartment in Ephraim that is all my own! (Promise I will put up pictures of the rest eventually.) I also miss like crazy MY ROOMMATES!! I have become such good friends with the girls that I share an apartment with. we have so much fun all the time. Ben gets mad when I say that I miss my roommates because he thinks it is a personal hit to his boyfriend-ness. but its not like I am saying that he is boring! There is a different bond between you and your boyfriend and you and you roommates.. you have to spend every second of every day with your roommates you have to get to love them or you will have a miserable year  at school. there is always something to do in R101 trust me. whether its a dance party in the living room or watching every movie the world has made or just sitting around helping me study for my courtship and marriage test ;) its always fun!! don't worry Ben! you are very fun too! but that's what you get when you leave your girlfriend at home alone to go to Disneyland for a week! I would give anything to be in Disneyland right now man... I LOVE Disneyland.

My roommates came up at the beginning of Christmas break so that we could go up to salt lake and see the Christmas lights at Temple Square! it was so fun! we spent the whole day doing things! we went to Zupas (the most amazing place in the world), we went to the mall, and we almost got killed in salt lake. what an adventure! we crammed all 4 of us into a photo booth and got some really cute pictures and even met a really cool pirate. luckily we didn't die during our adventure and I get to see these amazing girls again soon! Miss you guys!!

Hope the apartment is clean when I get back ;)

New Years Resolutions (that I am actually going to follow this year)

So I usually make all sorts of resolutions every January and I am always so pumped up and ready to put them into action! then they last for about maybe a month (ok fine... 2 weeks) and they get flushed down the toilet. well... this year that's going to change. I am going to stick to my new year resolutions and one of them happens to be writing on my blog!

I know there are some of you out there (you know who you are) who stalk my blog every single time you get on the computer! well, now you won't be disappointed! you will have something to read every time! I know it won't be every day like I had planned in the beginning. but now that I have seen lots of the ups and downs of college and now have a better understanding of what it is like and have a better handle on things, it will hopefully be fairly often. I have spent the night reading other famous blogs and it has made me envious of their blog skill. so here I go! ... again.

Wish me luck!
